Convertible top; A convertible top that can be worn 4 different ways. Wonderfully cute and versatile, and pretty easy to boot!
Cute over the shoulder bag; A cute bag pattern, this would be a nice beach day bag. :3
Tulip Skirt; This skirt is an adorable pattern. I can see it being gorgeous in a silky, light fabric. Maybe floral?
Men’s shirt to peplum; I love peplum shirts so much I can’t stand it. I messed up royally last time I tried, maybe I’ll try again.
Long Circle Skirt!!!!!; I LOVE circle skirts, I really need to make this.
Here’s a sewing roundup to inspire some sewing, these are really just too cute. Tomorrow I’m going to get a seam ripper and work on my sewing machine cover, then I need to do one of these.
Overall Dress (somewhat easy)– This is adorable. Basically take some overalls and cut to make a bodice and then sew on some fabric. Bam! Super cute. :3
Crochet Mobius Shawl– This is really cute. And the instructions look super easy. I’ve always wanted a Mobius shawl… :3
Single Crochet Foundation– I’ve seen some patterns that call for SCFC and I had no idea how to do it. Maybe this will help me, along with some of you. 😀
Ten Easy Skirt patterns– I picked my favorite skirt from this for the collage. Maybe when I find a table for my sewing machine I’ll be able to make some of these. 😀
Tunsinian Crochet– I found this and I’ve been curious about Tunsinian Crochet for a while….Doesn’t look TOO hard. xD
I ended up getting 8 bags to a ready to sew stage before I went to work. I sewed one up, because I didn’t want to carry my Mystic Dreamer box with me to work because it’s large and unwieldy. Tomorrow, I’m projected to have almost my entire collected dressed up and ready to…sit wherever I put them as I learn and read with them each individually at different times. But, hey. They’ll be in something I made.
You may be asking, “Wynn, what’s your next challenge?”. I give you a hearty “I have no idea!” inquiring soul. But I’m going to peruse and see what speaks to me and then I’ll tackle that too. Maybe something I can take to work with me, or maybe a beading technique. Possibly beading this time, since I haven’t done it in AGES. Besides I need to make some more jewelry to put on the shop. My next challenge will probably be jewelry related.
No picture for the progress today, apparently. I could have sworn I had taken one. But I have already completed the 9/9 requirement and right now I’m just finishing up and stitching the remainder. So, technically this challenge is a wrap. :3
My last post, where I posted the links to my Tarot Challenge and my Wicca site, reminded me that I desperately needed to make a tarot cloth for my readings. I think it’s a travesty that I’ve never had a spread cloth. Well, now I do. I ended up using the fabric that was intended for my Altar Cloth. I’m not hurt about this at all.
But, I’m not done for the day. I intend to get AT LEAST two bags done today… Or as done as I can get them, without having closures. I really don’t want to use elastic cord for it, so I’ll just wait until I get some ribbon tomorrow to actually 100% finish two bags. But I will get a couple of bags about 90% done tonight at some point.
Spread Cloth. Desperately needs to be ironed. But Look how straight my seams are. Progress. 😀
2 more bags down
UPDATE; I made two more bags, and decided to go rogue apparently, because I didn’t measure twice. In fact. I didn’t measure once. I guessed. And I failed. Both times. One of these was intended for my Pauline deck. But it didn’t fit. None of my decks fit. Maybe one of the ones in transit will. I’m heart broken, but i kept my word. Two more bags. :C
I have 3 bags (+1) out of the planned 9, completed. But I have more tarot decks on the way [I’ve not been very good :c]. I’m trying to get my current ones dressed, so, I’ll stick to the original 9 Bag challenge. I have that weird plus One thing up there because one of the bags I made wasn’t for Tarot cards, but for my little bitty Crystal collection. I bought some today while boyfriend and I were out and about in Montgomery. That little green bag holds my Gems, and it used up the last of my little bit of ribbon. The little Lacy white bag, is cinched at the top with Elastic, and I think it’ll work for the tiny deck it contains; I bought myself a Mystical Lenormand deck from a little occult store while we explored. I didn’t even measure the deck, I eyeballed and left it in the bedroom while I went to work on the bag. It actually fit. I’m a little pleased. Okay. More than a little pleased.
For the other bags, I’m going to find some more ribbon. Because, I’m gonna be honest here, I am far too lazy to make the little ties myself. And for sure too lazy to do it with out the little turning doo-dad. When I get one, it’ll be a whole different story. But for the time being… Laziness Prevails. I have some really cool fabric scraps that I’m working with, and I really cannot wait for the fabric I ordered from Ebay to get here. I ordered a 40 piece bag and a 36 piece bag and it only cost me 6 bucks, It should be Here Tuesday and I gotta tell you, I can’t wait. So many little thingies to make. I am buzzing with curiosity and anticipation. No idea what the fabric is, really, but from the pictures the woman posted they’re all these little patterned bright fabrics and miscellaneous fabrics. Which is awesome, by the way. 😀
Completed So far;
Three [Green doesn’t count, I just wanted to display it.]
I began making tarot bags today, and I have two completed. I made one for the first deck I ever got, The Art of Tarot, because it’s never had a place of its’ own since I did away with it’s box and moved it into a binder, where it’s been cramped and unloved. I put it in it’s new bag and put a piece of Quartz in with it to cleanse it of negativity. Also, because I feel bad for locking it up for so long. Anyway, the first bag;
is for my mother, I recently bought her a Rider-Waite deck for her Birthday and I wanted to make her bag to hold them. That dragonfly is hand embroidered. And I was goofy and decided to embroider it AFTER I did my seams. How redonk. It took FOREVER to do that itty bitty thing. But, thanks to the magical wonder that is Tailors Chalk I had no problem with the design. However, on his tail, I messed up. I was snipping some Gold thread out and cut a hole in the bag. You see, I saved it though, by making it an eyelet. Go me! I made it a traditional draw string bag, and used a cute bit of sheer blue ribbon as closure.
I used a bit of material I had gotten from that thrift shop, I fell in love with it and had no idea what to use it for. It works perfect for my Art of Tarot deck. At first I used Elastic in the band at the top. It was hard to get my cards in that way. And, so, literally like 30 seconds ago, I decided to rip out a couple of side stitches, take out the elastic and add some pretty blue ribbon. I’m so fickle sometimes. I liked the elastic at first, and it was a good idea. But eh. Not for this project.
Tomorrow, or Monday at some point I’ll knock out another bag. My next one will be The Goddess Tarot, and I have the perfect Fabric. I really want to use this fabric for another bag, but I’m not sure which deck. It’s too bright for the Pauline deck. And doesn’t quite mesh with the other decks either. So, I may not use it for another. I’ll go to the thrift shop and see what kind of fabric scraps they have. I’m a bit excited. :3
