Challenge; mountain heather scarf

Okay. So I changed my mind again- my stitch count got ten kinds of messed up on the chevron and I decided it had been a good run. Before I stopped chevron, I frogged the 91 chains and changed the pattern by half. It went well for like twenty rows then went to hell.
SO! I went back to my original plan and retried the windowpane scarf, after fighting with my chain for a few moments I got it to work and am happily working on my new scarf (people at work are envious!)

Right now my progress is about the size of my crochet hook. What you’re about to see is my second beginning- the first was using an H hook and this one is using a G. It’s more open than I would like, but I suppose it’ll do I’m sick of restarting projects.

My favorite owl yet :D

wpid-20140513_225635.jpg

For some reason, I think this is my favorite owl yet. I like his colors and his shape. He’s not got a face yet- but I’ll add button eyes and a felt beak. :3

For this, I doubled the original patter. Started with 12 in the magic loop, doubled to 24, then 36. I SC’d for a long time and decided at some point to decrease to 24 with the [1SC, SC2tog]. I did a few more rounds of SC then decreased again to with [1SC, SC2Tog]. Then I stuffed him and gave him ears.

That pattern was a good starting point, I don’t even need it anymore. Just kind of decide to make an owl and go.

This owl type will be 10.00 on my Etsy shop, and the ones I showed you yesterday, the Burgundy/Gold and Mint/Gold/Burgundy will be with the 6.00 owls as soon as I set them up with wings and peepers.

it is complete! kind of

There you go! I finished that wrist cuff-band thing. I put a place for like, a button closure or perhaps a tie. Which is what those loops are for, on either end.

Also, I’ve had that bone headband done for a while- but I just now managed to close it so it’s functional. Tomorrow, once I figure if I’m going to use a button or whatever on the band, I’ll probably make more. In different colors, or maybe not- I don’t know.

I have lots of yarn to make stuff out of- I just have to find stuff to make. I’ve also started a baby blanket with that pastel yarn that I made that headwrap with. Just because I really don’t like that yarn, now that I think about it, so I’ll just use it all up on a baby blanket. Since it actually looks cute for that.

Drop stitch headband

This is my current project- a White Drop Stitch headband. I’m planning, once I get it to length, to make a piece of knit fabric and make it look like a bow. OR, perhaps making a little crochet flower or bow and attach it. Or maybe both? Idk. This is basically working off of the  It’s a Cinch thing. But I’m adapting it for a more summery, airy style.

This will be available on Ebay, as early as tomorrow evening or afternoon, if you’re interested. The price will probably be around 6 dollars, since that seems to be my go-to for headbands. Also, this one’s not spectacularly difficult, so I can’t justify charging more. Shipping will most likely be free, or just enough to pay for the shipping label.

The pattern I’m following, in case you’re curious is;

Cast on 22 [or whatever you feel like, the cast on doesn’t appear to be really important here. Thick, thin….It all works]

I’m knitting the first four rows.

Then, I pick up a stitch like I’m going to knit it, and instead of wrapping once, I wrap three times. Then pull the wrapped thread through as though regularly knitting. Do that for each stitch.

Then, knit the first loop of each set of three, and let the other yarn overs slide off. Do that for each stitch.

Then simply knit the next three row [I count the first knit row after the dropped stitches as row one] and just repeat.

Headwrap almost done!

I say ALMOST because I’m planning to attach a piece of fabric to it. Perhaps pink or blue, for contrast. If I go with pink, maybe a floral pattern. Or, light blue. I’ll check out my fabric stash tomorrow and see what may work, or I’ll go to walmart and check out some fat quarters or the discard bin.

I’m not sure what I’ll make next- Crocheting for hours at a time makes my hands feel really odd and clumsy. Maybe my next project will be a small scale knitting project. I think I’m ready to knit again after the kitty scarf ordeal. That burnt me out fairly well. xD

I’ll probably have some idea about a knitting project tomorrow. I’ll have my sewing table on the 22nd and be able to sew things again. :3

cool!

But yeah, stuff’s happening and after finals, it’s very likely that lots of stuff will be happening. I’m going to take a couple of semesters off to indulge my hobbies and interests before I get caught up in special courses and mathematics.

My earlier promise; Boho Headband take one!

Alright, I started to work on something. I’m using Bernat Sport yarn in Baby Baby, I think. I can’t remember which yarn it is because I long ago balled it up and have long since lost the label. I’ve had this yarn for over a YEAR and I’m just now making something with it. My god.

I’m making THIS which I found on Ravelry. I quite like it, though I wish I had used lace yarn for this. It’s fairly easy, so I can see making multiples. I can’t wait to have this thing done. I made it 250+4 chains long, which is quite a bit more than called for. I made more to account for the thinner yarn.

I made it through the first two rows, and now I’m taking a break. I think I may make it like 7-8 rows. Perhaps add some fringe to each end, I’m not sure. I do quite like this yarn though.

Fairly sure my next one will be made with this lovely teal yarn I have- or more like blue-green with a touch a of sheen to it. Or, maybe burgundy? I need to use up some of my stash before I buy more.

Link’s exasperation

wpid-wp-1395777033123.jpg

I’m nearly done with the hat, perhaps between fifteen and twenty rounds to go. And I have to tell you, I’m incredibly exasperated. It doesn’t look like it’ll fit my boyfriend. And not by a little, perhaps by a lot. Instead of ripping it back and starting over and I’m determined to finish this hat. I don’t know what I plan to do with it, but I know I’m going to finish it. I’m considering what to do for the future attempt, perhaps thicker yarn? Maybe make it with the loom? I have no idea.

Honestly.

But I am so upset about this. I’ve slowed down on the working on it, because…I don’t know. I guess I’m feeling kind of blah as of late. I’ve started drawing again, but I’m not terribly motivated. I’ve gotten a lot of books on drawing and improving photography, and I’ve gotten prepared to attend University in the fall. But, I’m still feeling kind of flat. You may see more than just crafts, you may start seeing some writing or digital drawings or even photographs, so I can feel like I’m contributing to the blog.

Really- of all trades, could mean literally all I do. And I’m pretty sure, it’s up to me to decide. However, if you have an opinion feel free to comment it below. I plan to finish this hat this weekend while I’m at work [all alone for like a cumulative 16 hours. Yikes!]. Gotta tell you folks, I am not looking forward to this weekend.

On a different note, I’m not being invisible because I’m stressed. On the contrary, they gave me medicine that’s helping with my extreme anxiety and depressive phases. So, yay! Perhaps I’ll post again this evening. :3
